The day was September 11th, 2001...
I remember I was sitting in my elementary math class. An announcement came over the intercom. I didn't pay attention to it. Normally it was just a kid getting called down to the office for one reason or another.
I quickly realized this announcement must have been different. It became eerily quiet. Then a girl started crying. The whole room became much too loud. All over, kids were screaming and crying. The teacher quieted us down so we could hear the next announcement. We were all being sent home. We hadn't even been in school for an hour.
I still didn't know what was going on. Why were we being sent home? Why was everyone crying?

It's impressive how close you were able to snap that shot. Everything is so crystal clear and vivid. At a shot this close you're able to see the exquisite detail of not only the butterfly but also the flower. Ranging from the grooves of the petals and clusters of pollen to the specks of color and frayed edges of the wings of the butterfly it's just simply beautiful.

The patience of this butterfly should also be noted. It sat and ate patiently while I hovered around it like a predator.

Awesome zoom and I think the butterflies there are really use to people. These were taken at a butterfly garden =D

That will probably be my next vacation. I have no time for such trips right now - I'm serious! - but I really want to go see a bunch of butterflies before I die. Yep, 'tis on the list. How much did it cost?
